SALT LAKE CITY — A woman who police believed had been kidnapped was found safe Thursday morning.
Blanca Soldier, 24, was last seen Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. at her parent’s home, but wasn’t reported missing until Wednesday around 4:30 p.m., according to Salt Lake City police.
Police believe that Soldier was outside smoking at her parent's home near 1000 North and Victoria Way Tuesday when she was reportedly forced into a car by her boyfriend, Erwing Rico, 26.
Officers began searching for Soldier and Rico Wednesday evening. From Tuesday night until Thursday morning, police believe Rico kept Soldier close to him at all times and held her hostage inside a vehicle. He switched vehicles on a couple of occasions, borrowing cars from family members, police said. Those relatives were cooperating Thursday with investigators.
Soldier and Rico have three children together, and Rico, 26, has a history of domestic violence against Soldier, according to Sgt. Robin Heiden from the Salt Lake City Police Department.
Soldier was found “in good condition” Thursday morning around 11 a.m., police said. Rico dropped her off near the area where he allegedly kidnapped her. Police said Soldier had a few bruises from being forced into the vehicle, but was otherwise OK.
Police are still searching for Rico who has a previous warrant for his arrest issued by Sandy Justice Court.
