SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a woman who they believe was kidnapped by her boyfriend Tuesday.
Salt Lake police tweeted at about 10 p.m. that they are looking for Blanca Soldier who was "possibly kidnapped be (her) boyfriend, Erwing Rico."
Soldier and Rico have three children together, and Rico has a history of domestic violence against Soldier, according to Sgt. Robin Heiden from the Salt Lake City Police Department.
"They do have a history of domestic violence. In fact, (Rico) has two outstanding warrants for previous domestic violence incidents with Blanca of a similar nature as this one," Heiden said. "We do believe that she's in danger."
Police believe that Soldier was outside smoking at her parent's home near 1000 North and Victoria Way Tuesday when she was reportedly forced into a car by a man at about 8:30 p.m. Soldier's parents said they could hear their daughter arguing with someone, possibly on the phone, when she was outside, according to Heiden.
Witnesses reported the incident to police Tuesday, but it wasn't until Soldier's parents reported Soldier missing at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday that police concluded the woman forced into the car was likely Soldier.
One witness was able to give the license plate number to police. However, when police located the car Tuesday — which is registered to Rico — and spoke to people in the home, they did not find anything amiss, nor did they see Soldier or Rico, Heiden said.
Police believe Rico may now be driving a black Mitsubishi Diamonte that belongs to a relative of Rico's with Utah plate number D39 3DH .
Soldier reportedly has a leg injury that requires her to use crutches, but Heiden said Soldier does not have crutches with her. Heiden also said that Soldier posts frequently on Facebook, but she has not posted anything since 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, furthering worry that Soldier is not safe.
Heiden said the pair's children are not with them and are safe.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Soldier or Rico can call police at 801-799-3000.
