NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — Rob Hollomon rushed for 236 yards and two touchdowns and Central Connecticut State beat Rhode Island 38-14 on Saturday.
Hollomon broke the game open in the fourth quarter with two touchdown runs — 54 and 74 yards, respectively — to put the Blue Devils up 24-6 with 12:58 to play. CCSU scored a total of 28 points in the fourth quarter.
Nick SanGiacomo threw for 148 yards and one touchdown and added another on the ground for the Blue Devils (2-3).
Rhode Island's Mike Rinaldi recovered a fumble and initiated a seven-play, 53-yard drive that ended in the Rams' first touchdown, a 12-yard reception by Charlie McKeeman with 4:55 left in the third, cutting the deficit to four points. James Caparell ran 8 yards for Rhode Island's second touchdown with less than a minute to play.
The Rams (0-4) combined for 60-yards rushing.
