(KSL News) Salt Lake's City Council appears to have made a compromise with the police union over taking home patrol cars.

Council members restricted cars to those who live within 35 miles of the Interstate 80 and Redwood Road intersection.

Police who live outside that area will have to pay a fee, and the city will start charging businesses who use off-duty officers.
