ALAND ISLANDS — Soccer, or futbol, fans understand the difficulty of goalkeeping.
Tim Howard impressed Americans with his World Cup play, and Nick Rimando of Real Salt Lake continues to amaze enthusiasts with his skill.
Goalkeeping's hard work, is it not?
It made sense for Finnish goalkeeper and YouTube star Lassi Hurskainen to show off his goalkeeping skills and demonstrate to heavyweight boxer Robert Helenius how to properly clear a soccer ball by punching it.
"I'll show you now the real technique, and show the real boxer how to box the ball," Hurskainen said.
“All about power,” the former UNC Asheville goalkeeper said. “There’s no chance for anyone to score now.”
But The Nordic Nightmare was unimpressed.
"That was pretty decent," Helenius said.
"You know what? Let me show you a real technique, how to punch the ball."
Helenius punched the ball, sending it roughly 100 yards, Hurskainen estimated.
“You should go back to training now,” Helenius told Hurskainen.
