NEW YORK (AP) — A bunch of weather geeks sitting around talking shop is The Weather Channel's idea for new programming.

A weekly show will gather meteorologists and other experts to discuss topics like the merits of storm-chasing, how to fight droughts and whether machines or humans are better at forecasting.

The network said Wednesday that the show, called "Weather Geeks," will be hosted by Marshall Shepherd, director of the University of Georgia's atmospheric sciences program.

It debuts Sunday at noon (EDT), which will be its regular time slot.
