(KSL News) Fire broke out in a Taylorsville duplex this evening near 4800 South and 1500 West.

The 911 call came in just after 6 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke pouring from the home and garage. Crews were able to put the fire out quickly.

There were initial concerns that someone was trapped inside, but everyone was able to escape unharmed.

"They were all shocked. The lady that I guess lives in the house, or the one by it, she was screaming. It was pretty frightening. I just made sure everything was OK," neighbor Jessie Hebet said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials say damage is estimated at $30,000 to $50,000.
