CEDAR CITY — A woman's body was found late Friday night on the side of a dirt road south of Cedar City.
At about 10:30 p.m., "deputies from the Iron County Sheriff's Office responded to a suspicious circumstances call on the Tipple Road, approximately two miles south of Cedar City," according to a written statement from Iron County Sheriff's Sgt. Nik Johnson.
When the deputies arrived, they found a woman's body "near the road," the statement said.
Investigators had not been able to identify the woman Saturday afternoon, nor did they know a cause of death.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, the statement said.
