(KSL News) Land currently owned by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) could soon be transferred to the state of Utah.

Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed the legislation that involves 431 acres of land in the southern part of the Salt Lake Valley that currently surrounds Camp Williams.

Bill sponsor Rob Bishop says by transferring ownership of the land to the state, the Utah National Guard can continue to grow and better expand facilities and training.

The bill now goes to the Senate.
