SALT LAKE CITY — "Glee" turned 100 Tuesday night and took the opportunity to reunite the cast in a celebration of the best numbers performed in the choir room.

I have to admit, "Glee" is a show I have quit several times and catch occasionally just to check in on friends. So it was nice to watch this special episode and see the focus firmly on the original gang, not the newbies that made me lose interest in the show.

I fell for "Glee" hard, soaking up the songs and driving my family insane by singing them loudly throughout the house, watching and re-watching episodes, finding myself in love with Finn. When the show lost its innocence and charm and I quit watching, it didn't make me love the characters any less. When Cory Montieth passed last summer, I cried for a significant amount of time.

The real joy was that this 100th episode celebrated what "Glee" was about originally and what got me hooked in 2009. It was about singing to express yourself, finding your confidence among friends, the competitive nature of artistic people and of course misfits finding a place.

I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. Rachel and Mercedes dueled and made up. Kurt wore an outrageous outfit (it looked like chic Charlie Brown). I cried during the redux of "Keep Holding On" that Puck staged for his soulmate, Quinn. The whole tone of the episode was familiar, like seeing your childhood best friend. You pick up where you left off and they love you because of your quirks and because you're a part of who they are.

But I really missed Finn.

How about you — are you a diehard Gleek? A former Gleek? Or do you want to slushie the whole franchies in the face?
