(KSL News) A Springville mother faces negligent homicide charges in the death of her nine-year-old daughter.

Rachel Bundy died of bacterial meningitis in March of last year. She got the infection in February 2005 and died a month later of dehydration.

Authorities say Rachel's health was obviously deteriorating and she was not given proper medical care.

Her mother, Terece Bundy, is charged with either negligent homicide or abuse and neglect of a disabled child.

Prosecutors say they chose two charging options because they believe the incident fits both categories.

Terece is ordered to appear in court on June 16th for her first hearing.
