Sam Penrod ReportingPolice are searching for suspects in a shooting, using information from the man who was injured. It seems the shooting was the result of a robbery and it may have been over drugs, because the man who was shot has a very long criminal history.

Police were called to a Provo apartment complex around 5:30 this morning, on a report of a man who had been shot. The victim was able to give investigators some information on the suspects, and this afternoon police do say they have a good idea of who was involved in the shooting this morning. Now they are trying to arrest them.

Police say the victim, 45-year old Roger Gaisford suffered relatively minor injuries and was released from the hospital this afternoon.

Capt. Rick Healey, Provo Police Dept: "His condition is pretty good; it looks like he's injured in the shoulder, a round went down his shoulder."

Police put out an ATL the suspects' car. A Taylorsville police officer found it in Midvale. It turns out the car was stolen, and when the officer approached the car, the shooting suspect got away on foot.

One person was detained, but was later released from custody.

The victim apparently knew who shot him. Police are only saying the suspect is 25-30 years old with short hair.

So it seems this afternoon that the shooting this morning was not a random act of violence, which should make neighbors feel a little better after such a frightening morning.
