OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Ogden's mayor says something has to be done about the money drain the city's golf course is causing.

Mayor Matthew Godfrey is holding a town meeting within the next few weeks to ask for ideas. The Mount Ogden Golf Course has never been profitable since its construction in the early 1980s. Since 2003, it has cost the city about $250,000 a year.

Godfrey says there just aren't enough golfers in the area -- and the ones that are present would rather go to a less difficult course.

Other city officials say that making the course self-sufficient is a priority. A course redesign and a tax increase are among options being talked about.
