UTAH COUNTY — Seven people were transported to hospitals after a car accident on SR 198 near Payson Friday afternoon.
A Toyota pickup truck was traveling east on SR 198 around 12 p.m. when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign, according to officials. A southbound Buick collided with the pickup truck in the intersection. The accident occurred near Spring Lake, south of Payson.
Due to the force of the T-bone collision, a woman in the pickup truck had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency responders. She sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital along with three other passengers riding in the truck.
A woman and two children who were traveling in the Buick were also transported to local hospitals in an ambulance.
Most of the injuries received in the accident were non-life threatening, according to officials.
