LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Despite two nominations, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir came away empty-handed from this year's Grammy Awards celebration in Las Vegas.

The choir was up for awards in the best classical crossover album and best engineered classical album categories.

Before this year, the choir was also nominated in 1967 and 1987. It hasn't won a Grammy since 1959 for its rendition of "Battle Hymn of the Republic."

Choir General Manager Scott Barrick says he's still optimistic about next year, when the choir will have another three albums eligible for nominations.
