NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - An 18-year-old mother from Utah who police say was driving without a license is due before a judge on felony hit-and-run charges after eight pedestrians were struck outside a North Las Vegas church.
Nyakueth Tear is accused of plowing through people late Thursday outside Iglesia de Cristo church on Losee Road, and then trying to flee.
Meanwhile, North Las Vegas police Sgt. Tim Bedwell said Monday that a search for Tear's 1-year-old son has ended.
Tear's mother in Salt Lake City reported that the boy is with her.
Police initially had trouble locating the child, and found no evidence that he'd been in the white 2000 Mitsubishi Galant involved in the crash.
Tear told police she'd been sleeping in the vehicle for about a week.
