SALT LAKE CITY — Thirteen Utah artists have partnered with RC Willey and the Huntsman Cancer Institute to create unique painted chairs for a charity auction this week.

Artists including Randall Lake, Nathan Florence and Janell James used plain white chairs as canvases to create one-of-a-kind works of art for the auction. Many of the artists have been personally affected by cancer.

James studied art at the University of Utah, the Bay Area Classical Artists Atelier in Belmont, Calif., and the Studio Escalier in Paris, France.

The auction, called Chairs for Charity, will be held Wednesday from 6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. at the RC Willey at 2301 S. 300 West in Salt Lake City. Pre-register for the auction here. All auction proceeds will benefit Huntsman Cancer Institute.
