(KSL News) A 2-year-old girl that police say was brutally abused by her mother is now out of the hospital.

The girl was released to the custody of her father after a 10-day stay for treatment of broken bones, chemical burns and other injuries.

According to police, the girl's mother brought her to the emergency room earlier this month but then could not account for the severity of the injuries and kept changing her story.

The mother, Amy Ellene Roberts, and her boyfriend, Derrick Lee Crispin, were both arrested on charges of child abuse and obstructing justice.
