Sam Penrod reportingWe're getting more answers today about a shooting in Utah County last night and the manhunt for a suspect. Shots were fired at a car, and in the end three people were arrested.
It turns out the shots that were fired actually came from an airsoft pellet gun. We also found out that the man who called 911 to report a reckless driver and then was shot at didn't mention to police he was in the middle of a dispute with the suspect over money.
This green Cadillac SUV is what the suspects were driving last night about 7:30 west of Payson in Utah County.
Someone in another car called 911 to report there was a reckless driver behind the wheel. Sgt. Spencer Cannon of the Utah County Sheriff's Office said, "The complainant was following the vehicle, at least he said he was following the vehicle trying to get a license plate from him. During the course of following him the suspect vehicle stopped, the driver got out and fired several shots towards the victim."
The victim was not hit by the seven or eight shots fired, and it was later determined they were fired from an airsoft pellet gun. But believing the gun was a firearm, police stopped the suspect's SUV, and the driver ran off.

That prompted a manhunt with the SWAT team and the suspect. Jorge Sinderos, 22, was captured about two hours later. That's when more of the truth started to come out. "We've determined it might not have been exactly what it was represented to us," said Cannon. "It appears the individuals involved, both the victims and the suspects, had a prior relationship of some sort, [and] that problems arose in that relationship."
Now detectives confirm it was a problem over a debt, and that the suspect owed money to the victim who was shot at with the pellet gun.
Even though the gun fired was an airsoft pellet gun, the suspect was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault for firing it at the victim.
He also faces other charges including possession of cocaine, intoxication, driving without a license and reckless driving.
