Sarah Dallof reportingIt was a terrifying start to the new year for five employees at a Salt Lake City concert venue. They were tied up and robbed at gunpoint early this morning.

There was a concert at The Depot last night. The five employees were cleaning up for the night when two men with masks and guns approached a manager standing on the loading dock.

Salt Lake City Police Lt. J.R. Nelson said, "They were both wearing black neoprene masks on their face at that time."

Those masks hid almost everything about the robbers as they searched the business for other employees.

"They rounded up these five other employees, took them down to the office where they secured them with zip ties," Nelson said.

The robbers took the manager to several locations in the concert venue, collecting money at each. They left the employees in the basement and walked out.

Despite the robbers masks, investigators do have several clues, including surveillance video from outside The Depot.

Nelson says, "We did get video from The Gateway mall. It should be able to show the detectives some information on the suspects."

Police aren't saying how much money the robbers took, and they're not speculating if the robbers struck last night believing New Year's would result in a bigger-than-normal payout. They do say they're concerned the two didn't hesitate to rob a business with six employees inside.

"It becomes very worrisome at that point, because you don't know what's going to take place if someone gets frightened about being tied up," Nelson said.

Because of those masks, the descriptions of the suspects are really vague. One man was wearing blue coveralls and a knit cap. The other wore a yellow fleece jacket and a Nike hat.
