(KSL News) -- Black Friday is a day some love, and many dread.

The day after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the year. Retailers roll out their lowest prices to lure in customers, and consumers head out early that day to snag hot sale items.

Most stores don't release their ads until a day or so before Thanksgiving. But a few online sites leak sales notices early, giving a few shoppers a leg up on shopping savings.

Some early shoppers, armed with these early lists, buy items they want now then return them for price adjustments after holiday sales come out.

Analysts say that's one reason hot items sell out so quickly. Retailers make threats and sue over these postings, but the sales keep getting leaked.
