(KSL News) Members and friends of Utah's Jewish and Muslim communities came together this Christmas to help meet the needs of others
It was part of "Shalom, Salaam, Tikkun Olam"--an interfaith project designed to collect and deliver donations to Salt Lake's elderly and refugees from Somalia and Myanmar.
Nearly 300 volunteers gathered at Rowland Hall St. Mark's School to assemble baskets of food, clothes and gifts for 600 homebound seniors, 450 refugees and 10 impoverished families.
The project raised nearly $12,000 in less than five weeks.
