SALT LAKE CITY — Heavy Metal rocker Dave Mustaine has a bone to pick with a Salt Lake City Mens Warehouse store.
Megadeth frontman and former Metallica member Dave Mustaine made a complaint on the band's fan Facebook page on Dec. 28 over a gift certificate from a Salt Lake City Mens Wearhouse that was not delivered in the guaranteed two days to the band's tour manager.
Mustaine's complaint to his "Droogies" starts out by saying he knows not all of them have jobs that requires a suit and many only wear them on special occasions.
"(B)ut if you do…you are going to want to read this. You know me, I don't complain much in writing, but I gotta get this off my chest," Mustaine wrote.
He then goes on to say how he purchased a gift certificate for his manager, Jim Carroccio, a few days before Christmas with the store's two-day delivery guarantee. Nine days later, the certificate hadn't arrived, so he called the store and asked what happened.
"(T)hey have no explanation whatsoever, they didn't care, and when we asked if they were going to do anything to remedy this, they made no effort whatsoever for this mix-up...although they did promise me the same GUARANTEE that they gave me when I bought it; that is that they will send it ‘two-day delivery,' but I already was promised this," Mustaine wrote. "Maybe they mean 12 day delivery."
Mustaine closed his complaint with a boycott of the store, turning the store's slogan, "You're going to like the way you look; I guarantee it," on them.
"I for one, will never set foot in a Men's Warehouse, even for shelter from a blizzard. I absolutely GUARANTEE it."
The store responded four days later on both Facebook and Twitter to Mustaine's complaint.
"Dave, thanks for reaching out to us on Facebook. We apologize for the delay in receiving your gift card and agree that the delay is unacceptable," they wrote on Facebook.
On Twitter, the company told Mustaine to reach out to them for help.
"@DaveMustaine Thx for reaching out on FB. We responded to your posts on your fan pages. We're here to help, email us at MWListens@tmw.com"
