SANDY — A man has been arrested after robbing a grocery store pharmacy of Oxycodone.

David A. Lofgreen, 57, allegedly entered a Macey's grocery store at 7850 S. 1300 East in Sandy at 9:29 a.m. on Monday and used a note to rob the pharmacy.

An employee of a neighboring business observed the suspect enter and leave the store with a mask on. The employee followed the man, who was driving a VW Jetta with tape over the license plate, to a parking lot of an LDS church building. The man, who had taken off the mask, pulled the tape off the licence plate, revealing the plate number.

The employee said it was at this point that the man recognized he was being followed and drove through a neighborhood, losing the employee about two blocks away from the license plate's registration address.

Officers who were in the area as the employee followed the man watched the house for a few minutes and arrested the Lofgreen without incident after he pulled out of the garage in the VW Jetta.

Lofgreen matched the description of the suspect given to the police. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of robbery.
