SALT LAKE CITY — It has been quite a year for the retail scene in Utah with so many big brand stores that have set up shop for the first time in the Beehive state.

Some of the new store openings included H&M, Crate & Barrel, West Elm, and now the first Trader Joe's is being added to that list.

"I am so happy to be here," said Trader Joe's Captain, Rory Violette. "We had 200 or 300 hundred people waiting outside our store this morning. We gave them all high fives and put leis around their neck, and we just couldn't be happier."

Located at 634 E. 400 South in Salt Lake City, Trader Joe's created quite the buzz among local consumers. Many people are excited about the food products that can only be purchased there.

"80 percent of our products are Trader Joe's label," Violette said. "So they are reasonably [priced.]"

Devoted buyers of Cat cookies and frozen Mandarin Orange Chicken, even peppermint JoJo's, will now be able to curb their cravings starting Friday.
