WEST JORDAN — Copper thefts at two West Jordan TRAX stops caused train delays Sunday morning, UTA spokesman Gerry Carpenter said.
The TRAX red line was diverted onto a single track between approximately 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Carpenter said.
The thefts, which occurred at the 2700 West and 5600 West TRAX stops, are still under investigation, Carpenter said. He said he did not know the value of the copper stolen, or the amount of damage caused during the thefts, and declined to elaborate on the specifics of the incident out of concern for copycat crimes.
