(KSL News) A Salt Lake County man received his sentence for pretending to be a firefighter.
Patrick Frederickson admitted he stole firefighting equipment, including a badge, and used his phony status to open lines of credit and even lease an apartment.
He also used the false identification to help fight fires. Frederickson would listen to a police scanner then race to accident scenes.
Because he pleaded guilty, he wasn't sentenced to jail, but was ordered to three years probation and counseling.
