OGDEN — A 24-year-old climber was injured Monday when he fell while climbing at the mouth of Ogden Canyon.

The Weber County Sheriff's Office said the climber fell roughly 20 feet and then rolled another 60 feet down the mountain. Officials said the man was alone when he fell, and had to call for help between bouts of unconsciousness.

A fisherman in the nearby Ogden River heard the man and called 911 for help.

When emergency responders reached the man, they found he had head injuries and both his ankles were broken. He was carried down the mountain on stretcher and transported by ambulance to McKay-Dee Hospital.

The man's name has not been released.
