COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — Cottonwood High School has hired a new head football coach, following allegations against former head coach Josh Lyman.
Coach Greg Croshaw had previously coached for his predecessor's alma mater, the Dixie State Rebels, for 24 seasons, and is "one of the winningest collegiate football coaches in the state of Utah", a press release said.
Coach Croshaw has yet to have a losing season, and will take the reigns of the equally successful team.
Cottonwood High School will also be the first high school football team in Utah whose game will be featured nationally on ESPN this September.
The position was most recently held by Lyman before he resigned his post as head coach last month, when it was discovered that he had potentially had an inappropriate relationship with an underage student at the school. He faced charges of misconduct, but was not formally penalized.
The team has had much success on the field, but has not had the best luck keeping coaches over the last few years, with a mixture of sudden deaths and departures. There is hope that Coach Croshaw can have a positive long-lasting impact on the school.
Coach Croshaw received his undergraduate degree from Weber State College and his Masters Degree from Brigham Young University.
