(KSL News) The homicide conviction of a former Salt Lake County Sheriff's deputy will stand. The charges against Carla Redding stemmed from a fatal 2002 accident.

Redding was responding to a call when she hit a car carrying four people. One of the occupants of the car was killed.

Redding was convicted of negligent homicide, negligent collision and speeding three years later. She appealed the conviction, asking for a new trial due to possible jury misconduct and a lack of evidence to support the charges.

Yesterday, the Utah Court of Appeals rejected her arguments.
