FARMINGTON — A 16-year old Farmington boy was killed Tuesday night while walking his bike in a crosswalk.
He was struck just after 6 p.m. by a westbound SUV driven by a female at 400 West and State Street in Farmington, said Police Chief Wayne Hansen.
They boy was crossing State Street heading southbound when he was struck.
The teen suffered severe head trauma and died enroute to the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City via medical helicopter.
Several people witnessed the incident and police were continuing Tuesday night to interview the driver and witnesses. Police are investigating why the driver did not see the teen, Hansen added.
The accident ocurred just east of I-15 in Farmington about four blocks east of the Davis County Sheriff's Office. The intersection has not been a problem area in the past, Hansen said. The boy's identity and additional details will not be released until Wednesday morning, he added.
