SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah group is reaching out to women placing their children for adoption.
Gina Crotts founded "Birth Mother Baskets" not long after she placed a child for adoption 11 years ago. She says she wanted to give birth mothers "something they could take home with them, after they placed."
Since that year, the organization has grown, becoming a non-profit organization in 2011. Last year, they sent out more than 300 baskets, not just to birth mothers here in Utah, but nationwide.
Birth Mother Baskets is always thankful for donations of either cash, or items that can be placed in the baskets, including lotions, journals, small blankets, magazines, photo albums, hair accessories and other items that can be used to "pamper" a birth mother.
