SALT LAKE CITY -- With the premier of "The Voice" Sunday on NBC, KSL decided to try to find Utah's best garage band. For the last week, local bands have uploaded their songs on KSL's Facebook page. Nearly 50,000 votes cast on 163 submissions later, the top three bands were judged.
Argyle, a band from Sandy that plays modern and contemporary rock, was chosen by KSL's judges, Jon Carter and Gary Michaels from The Arrow- Classic Rock 103, and KSL TV Social Media Director Natalie Wardel, as the winner of the contest. The band will perform on SportsBeat soon.
The band members have been friends since childhood and decided to start a band one year ago.
The largest group of the finalists, seven-member band Argyle features a violin, harmonica and ukulele. They released their first album in November.
