(KSL News) A proposed split of the Jordan School District has prompted a federal lawsuit.

Herriman City and individual voters on the west side of the district filed the suit. They say their lack of a vote on the issue violates their constitutional rights.

Herriman city councilman Jerry Walker told the Deseret Morning News the west has contributed a lot to the east side, and now the east needs to do the same.
