BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- A former Ashley dentist has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated sexual abuse of a child in Utah.

Dolan Anderson, 48, was charged with five counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child on Oct. 24, 2005. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in Utah's 5th District Court on March 14.

Assistant Washington County Attorney Brian Filter said Anderson returned voluntarily from North Dakota to face the charges in St. George, Utah, where he used to practice dentistry.

Anderson's North Dakota dental license expired last year and has not been renewed, said Rita Sommers, executive director of the North Dakota Board of Dental Examiners. His practice in Ashley closed last year, she said.

Anderson had a Utah dental license from 1987 to 2002, the Utah Division of Professional Licensing said.

Court documents say the alleged sexually abuse occurred between 1994 and 1999 in Utah.
