LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper accused of causing a crash that killed four people is now on house arrest until his trial.
Outside the courtroom today, 28-year-old Joshua Corcran apologized for what he called a "tragic accident" last month on I-15 outside Las Vegas.
It was the first time he made a public comment since the crash, which killed four illegal Mexican immigrants who lived and worked in southwest Utah. The crash also injured a 16-year-old girl who's pregnant with twins.
Police say Corcran's patrol car was going more than one-hundred miles an hour when it slammed into a car.
He is charged with reckless driving and involuntary manslaughter. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison.
