(KSL News) UTA spent more than a half million dollars on out-of-state travel for its employees last year.

In all it spent more than $550,000 for about 170 employees to travel. UDOT spent more than $488,000 for 241 employees.

The Deseret Morning News reports UTA General Manager John Inglish's expenses alone totaled more than $32,000.

UTA says its employees' trips are necessary to bring the latest technology to Utah.
