WEST JORDAN — A man accused of shooting and killing a Sandy mother has been ordered to stand trial on all of the charges leveled against him.

Third District Judge Mark Kouris determined Thursday that there was sufficient evidence to bind Cody Alan Reece, 31, of Millcreek, over on charges of capital murder; aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony; and possession of a firearm by a restricted person and obstruction of justice, second-degree felonies.
Reece is charged in connection with the July 13, 2010 slaying of Magda Aleman, who left behind a husband and three young children. She was killed in her home during a burglary.
Reece was caught later the same day while allegedly trying to burglarize another home in the area. Investigators sent Reece's T-shirt to the Utah State Crime Lab to have stains on his shirt tested for DNA. The stains turned out to be blood that matched Aleman's DNA, witnesses said.
Reece will have an arraignment hearing Aug. 30.
