(KSL News) -- Utah's agriculture industry is stepping up efforts to catch cow-killers in Tooele County. Several organizations held a news conference today to announce they're increasing the reward from $10,000 to $12,000.
Someone shot ten cows belonging to rancher Dick Johnson between Christmas and New Years. Farmers and ranchers say it's a threat to their livelihood.
Leland Hogan, Pres, Utah Farm Bureau Federation: "It's an important industry, and to have people just haphazardly going down the road, shooting livestock is not something we want to see happen."
Arthur Douglas, Farmers Union: "And if it's not going to stop here, where is it going to keep going? We're very concerned in the agriculture industry throughout the whole state of Utah."
The Tooele County Sheriff says the case will not be solved without help from the public. If you know anything at all, please call at 435-843-4705.
