LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- For a football team that went 1-11 last season, Utah State has a simple motto.
"We had the whole team in a room nominating ideas," coach Brent Guy said. "It came down to a simple one word, 'win.' ... Until we win a game, we are going to have to answer to last year. We need to get that monkey that is riding us."
The Aggies finished the 2006 season with six consecutive losses. The 11 defeats were the most in school history.
The only bright spot: a 13-12 victory over Fresno State when Utah State was a 27-point underdog.
"It has been tough since the end of the season to reflect on what happened," defensive end Ben Calderwood said. "I think it will be motivation for us. All we have to do is look at what it took to beat Fresno State. It was a team effort, all 11 guys on the field working together."
