(KSL News) -- A good number of Utah's high school seniors still haven't passed the test that will ensure them a full diploma.
New figures from the State Office of Education show 17-percent of the class of 2006 (5,700 students) failed at least one section of the basic skills test.
This is the first year the state has required students to pass that test to get a regular diploma.
Math is the #1 area where students are having a problem.
Students can take the test 5 times. Seniors have taken it 4 times and have a final shot next month.
