SALT LAKE CITY -- The University of Utah replaced the Mountain West Conference (MWC) logo Tuesday with the new Pac-12 logo on the turf inside Rice-Eccles Stadium.
The replacement was expected to happen a week ago, but due to a manufacturing delay and the spring scrimmage being moved from Saturday to Monday, the logo swap didn't occur until Tuesday- in plenty of time for the annual Red-White game scheduled for Saturday, April 16.
Utah accepted an invitation to join the Pac-10 in June of last year and will officially join the conference, along with the Colorado Buffaloes, on July 1, at which time the conference name will officially change to the Pac-12.
The Utes have been in the Mountain West Conference since the league was formed in 1999, while the Buffaloes are moving over from the Big 12.
