(KSL News) -- Just in time for Torino, another Olympic scandal. This time Salt Lake City is the alleged victim.
Salt Lake City bid for the 1998 Winter Olympics. It came down to a close race between Salt Lake and Nagano, Japan. Nagano got the bid, but a new Japanese report says the city may have won it illegitimately.
In 1998, the gift limit for International Olympic Committee members was $200, but Nagano gave out more than half a million dollars in souvenirs, about $5700 per IOC member.
Also, the report says Nagano spent almost $.5 million entertaining IOC members during the bid. That's about $46,000 per committee member.
