(KSL News) The Davis School District is giving some students an extended summer vacation.
Classes at Ellison Park Elementary will begin on October 1, about four weeks later than usual.
Officials changed the schedule because construction on Ellison won't be finished until September 17.
Students will make up the lost time by staying in class an extra 15 minutes each day and starting next year's summer break three weeks late.
The schedule will return to normal next year.
