Shelley Osterloh ReportingWeather-wise, it's truly the best of both worlds here in Utah right now. In the valley it's a balmy 47 degrees, but the mountains are seeing plenty of snow.
Some folks took advantage of open golf courses to hit a few balls, and in the some day they could do a little snowboarding.
Four consectuive storms dumped several feet of the Greatest Snow on Earth on Utah's 13 ski resorts and mountains, and that means great recreation and opportunities for skiers, snowboarders and snowmobilers. Some resorts are reporting base depths of more than 100 inches.
And the word is out across the country; Ski Utah is reporting holiday bookings were up as much as 30 percent over the last year.
If you headed to the mountains, avalanche danger is considerable at upper elevation. At mid elevations it's just moderate, but that still means humans can trigger an avalanche.
Northern Utah Snow levels are at about 120-percent of average for this time of year.
