SALT LAKE CITY -- You've probably heard of NBC's hit show "The Biggest Loser," but did you know the Humane Society of Utah has its own version of the show?

Ali is a 4 ½-year-old Border Collie. When her owner brought her to the shelter, she weighed in at 75 pounds -- almost twice as much as a dog of her breed should weigh.

"It is pretty uncommon for this breed but, you can make anything fat by lack of activity and too many calories," said Dr. Lena DeTar, a Humane Society veterinarian.

Ali is now eating a lot less and getting exercise. Tuesday, she tipped the scales at 69 pounds.

When Ali hits her goal weight of 50 pounds she will go up for adoption.
