(KSL News) Highway Patrol Troopers are crediting seat belts with saving the lives of a family in an accident in Summit County this morning.
Troopers say a green passenger car was heading east on State Road 35 in Francis when it veered into oncoming traffic. It hit a pickup truck head-on causing the truck to roll once. The man inside that truck had serious head and leg injuries; he wasn't wearing a seat belt.
But the parents and three children inside the smaller car which took the brunt of the damage all were wearing seat belts. Only one of them has serious injuries, the other four have minor injuries.
