Brooke Walker reporting Two tractor trailers and a pickup pulling a trailer tangled in a massive wreck Wednesday morning.

The accident happened near the intersection of 1700 South 5400 West in Salt Lake City around 9 a.m. this morning.

Three Seriously Injured in Semi vs. Pickup Accident

Sgt. Richard Lewis, Salt Lake Police Dept.: “The Ford truck was heading northbound in the inside lane. The blue semi was heading southbound and made a left hand turn.”

A left hand turn directly into a gold colored Ford pickup. The impact cause the pickup to spin out of control and crash into another semi that was waiting to turn at the adjoining intersection.

Both the driver and passenger of the pickup were seriously injured by the severe impact. The driver of the blue semi was injured as well.

Marcus Sanchez, Witness: “I was right behind him, and there was no reason for him to turn. He still had plenty of time to turn.”

Police don’t know if speed or weather was a factor in the crash. They are currently investigating.
