FARMINGTON - Lagoon amusement park Friday announced the donation of $53,109 to the education foundations of 35 Utah school districts throughout as a part of Lagoon's Frightmares Halloween Promotion.
During the fundraising effort, participating school districts distributed discount Lagoon tickets to local public schools with students and parents able to redeem them during the month of October. For each discount ticket purchased, Lagoon made a donation to the student's school district foundation.
This year's largest donation, totaling $7,638, was awarded to the Alpine School District Education Foundation.
"We feel a responsibility to make positive contributions to the state of Utah," said Dick Andrew, vice president of marketing at Lagoon. "One of the best ways Lagoon can make a difference is to be a part of the solution by donating funds to help improve our schools."
Now in its 18th year, Lagoon's Education Foundation Promotion has donated $818,097 since its inception.
