SALT LAKE CITY -- A 19-year-old man who crashed a stolen vehicle into a semi trailer was arrested by Salt Lake police late Tuesday.
Witnesses spotted a Jeep Cherokee driving erratically on the freeway about 10:45 p.m., said Salt Lake Police detective Dennis McGowan. The vehicle exited the freeway and near 2350 North and 1150 West crashed into a parked semi truck as well as some fencing along the Chevron Company's property, he said.

"There was significant damage," he said.
The driver kept going, however, but rolled the Jeep a short time later near 700 North and 1000 West.
As the man began walking away from the accident and reportedly tried to flag down other passing vehicles, police arrived and took him into custody.
Siosaia Takia was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries before being booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of possessing a stolen vehicle and criminal mischief.
Investigators believed alcohol was a factor in the incident.
